My name is Ryan Aasen (åsen). I am an artist, researcher, and educator currently based in New
York City.
I am broadly interested in the politics of media technologies. Central to this interest is the division
between public and private life—a distinction actively blurred by these technologies.
I was an artist-in-residence
at Triangle, an MIT Transmedia Storytelling Initiative fellow, a
Northern Lights.mn Art(ists) on
the Verge fellow, and my work has been exhibited internationally.
I have taught art, design, and technology courses at MIT, RISD, Parsons School of
Design, and Stevens Institute of Technology.
